IL FILM DI BOB MARLEY: RAS JULIO NELLA PRODUZIONE - INTERVISTA ESCLUSIVA

https://reggaerevolution.it/il-film-di-bob-marley-ras-julio-nella-produzione-intervista-esclusiva/

Intervista Integrale  a Ras Julio: Consulente Rastafari del film  di Bob Marley One Love e revisore dialoghi - Esclusiva by Reggae Revolution.it

Martijn Huisman - The Reggae Nation - su Kickstarter

https://bit.ly/3aQ4zsy

Greetings! I'm Martijn Huisman, welcome to the Kickstarter for my new book The Reggae Nation: The Global Legacy of Bob Marley & The Wailers.

In the summer of 2011, I stumbled upon the YouTube music video ‘Redemption Song, Song Around The World’, which showed in a direct and pure way Bob Marley’s music being played around the globe. The video inspired me to start on a journey of discovery to explore the global legacy and impact of legendary reggae group Bob Marley and the Wailers. After 10 years and countless hours of research, writing, and editing, my book is finally finished and ready for publication. But to get 500 copies of the book printed, I need help. Your help.

Creating a book is expensive. Making an amazing, one-of-its-kind, visually rich and colourful book is very expensive. The Reggae Nation cannot come to life without the help and support of many people; people like you! How can you help to make this book happen? First and foremost, by pledging your support by ordering a copy of the book and any of the unique, Kickstarter-exclusive items on offer. But you can also help by spreading the word, both online and offline! Will you help to realise this passion project, 10 years in the making, to honour Bob Marley and the Wailers?

The Book: The Reggae Nation

From the early 1970s, Bob Marley and the Wailers toured the world to bring a prophetic musical message of rebellion, redemption, and Rastafari. With their reggae anthems, the Wailers painted the planet red, gold, and green, achieving fame and recognition unparalleled by any other reggae group. Since his untimely passing in 1981, Bob Marley has become larger than life as a cultural icon and reggae’s brightest star; his music, message, and image continue to resonate and inspire.

However, except for isolated and scattered accounts in reggae literature and academic works, the phenomenal success of Bob Marley after his death as well as his global legacy have remained largely unexplored. The Reggae Nation is the first attempt to explore and understand the global achievements and presence of Bob Marley and the Wailers and their contributions to the ‘Reggae Nation’: the worldwide reggae community. There is no other book like this unique and professionally produced work about the 'King of Reggae' and what he has meant and continues to mean to people all over the world.

As a global history of reggae and a reggae travelogue rolled into one, The Reggae Nation takes readers on an extraordinary and unique journey through time and space. From the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the frozen heights of the Himalayas in Nepal, and numerous places in between on all continents; the book takes readers to the roots and along the routes of reggae and Rastafari to make sense of the pioneering work of Bob Marley and the Wailers. In doing so, The Reggae Nation bears witness to and celebrates the enduring vibrancy of reggae music and its global spread.

The Reggae Nation is a striking and one-of-a-kind 420-page publication in large format, which allows the nearly 300 photos and illustrations to really stand out. The book is beautifully, colourfully, and richly designed and illustrated by graphic artist Maria Papaefstathiou, co-founder of the International Reggae Poster Contest. Many of the photos are by renowned reggae and pop music photographers from around the world, including Lee Abel, Adrian Boot, Murray Cammick, Kim Gottlieb-Walker, Gijsbert Hanekroot, Marcello Mencarini, Ebet Roberts, Mitsuhiro Sugawara, and Rob Verhorst. With a foreword by none other than Roger Steffens, acclaimed reggae archivist and author of So Much Things to Say: The Oral History of Bob Marley.

Roger Steffens about The Reggae Nation

“In this remarkable book, a travelogue of inspiring revelations, you will find eloquent descriptions of Marley’s globe-spanning inspiration that was the prime mover in creating what the author calls the ‘Reggae Nation’. Huisman is an articulate guide as he spins the globe, bringing remote outposts and cultures into clear view, where Marley’s works have taken hold, transformed local belief systems, and become the new hymnal for peace-seekers.”

- Roger Steffens, reggae archivist & author of So Much Things to Say: The Oral History of Bob Marley.

Shipping & customs fees

Shipping charges will be calculated after selecting your rewards. While I do my best to provide the cheapest and best possible way of shipping, it might be more expensive than you are used to. The reason is simple: shipping a book of this size and weight (approx. 2,8 kg/6.2 lbs) is expensive, particularly to destinations outside the EU. Additionally, some countries charge customs fees which you might have to pay upon delivery. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can do about that. Please check your local regulations for information.

Why should I back this project?

1. Support a special project and one-of-its-kind book 10 years in the making.

2. The print run is limited to 500 books; it is now or never to get your numbered and autographed copy of the book!

3. You will be thanked in the book as a backer of the project.

4. You will be among the very first to have the book: Kickstarter backers will receive the book before it is available in stores.

5. The Kickstarter price of the book is lower than the retail price.

6. All backers who purchase a Digital Edition and/or Print Edition will receive the exclusive Making of The Reggae Nation digital booklet.

7. Besides regular updates on campaign milestones, you get access to exclusive online content, such as book outtakes, blogs, and other content.

8. By supporting the project, you also give to charity. All book proceeds (after covering the costs) will go to HELP Jamaica! (see below for more information).

9. Last but certainly not least: you will have my sincere gratitude, from the bottom of my heart, for helping to realise this project on which I have worked for ten years and which means so much to me!

Book proceeds to charity

Bob Marley once said: “Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end.” I started and undertook this massive project not to make money, but to satisfy my curiosity about the achievements and legacy of Bob Marley and to share my passion and knowledge with others. The Reggae Nation highlights my commitment to reggae and is my way of giving something back to the music which has given me so much. That is why this book project has a non-profit character; the proceeds of book sales (after covering the costs of making the book) go to charity, namely the non-profit organisation HELP Jamaica! HELP Jamaica! supports educational projects in Jamaica to bring positive change and create opportunities for children, youths, and adults to learn and empower themselves. To be clear: all funds raised through the Kickstarter will 100% go to printing the book and covering shipment costs.

Who is the author (Martijn Huisman)?

I am a long-time reggae fan, experienced researcher and author, husband to a reggae-loving wife, and father of two young children. In 2010, I published a free online work entitled Jamming in Japan: Bob Marley & The Wailers in Japan 1979  about Bob Marley's visit to Japan. In 2018, renowned photographer Gijsbert Hanekroot and I published the photo book Babylon By Bus: Bob Marley & The Wailers Live and Up Close (English) and Babylon By Bus: Bob Marley & The Wailers in Nederland (Dutch). Babylon By Bus was realised via Kickstarter thanks to the support of people around the world.

I have been interviewed by The Jamaica Gleaner (Jamaica) and De Telegraaf (the Netherlands) and have talked about Bob Marley and reggae on BBC World Service Radio as well as Dutch NPO Radio 1 and NPO Radio 5. I was a speaker at the 2018 Reggae Innovation and Sound System Culture conference in Birmingham (U.K.) and presented live on stage at various Marley tribute events.

Professionally, I am an experienced academic- and market researcher, with a BA in History and a MA in Media and Journalism (Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands) and a recently obtained doctoral degree (PhD) in Communication Sciences from Ghent University (Belgium).

Bob Marley: ritrovati e restaurati i "lost masters"

https://www.rockol.it/news-669077/bob-marley-scoperte-e-restautate-registrazioni-live-perdute?refresh_ce

Decisamente No secondo la comunità Rasta sull'isola e secondo voi ?
